Offline Files Is Trying To Synchronize With Old Server Name

I ran across this problem not too long ago where after upgrading to a new file server, users that had been previously synchronizing their Offline Files were having issues with Offline Files still trying to synchronize with the original / old file server name.   The old server was already decommissioned and removed, so the only way I could resolve this was by doing the following steps in order:

-Disabling Offline Files
-Restart the PC
-Delete the C:\Windows\CDC directory
-Delete registry key:  HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\NetCache
-Restart the PC
-Enable Offline Files
-Restart the PC

Diagram Active Directory Automatically

I stumbled across this little utility / tool from Microsoft that diagrams Active Directory.  I can be pretty useful if you ever need to document or diagram Active Directory.

Overview

With the Active Directory Topology Diagrammer tool, you can read your Active Directory structure through Microsoft ActiveX® Data Objects (ADO). The Active Directory Topology Diagrammer tool automates Microsoft Office Visio to draw a diagram of the Active Directory Domain topology, your Active Directory Site topology, your OU structure or your current Exchange 200X Server Organization. With the Active Directory Topology Diagrammer tool, you can also draw partial Information from your Active Directory, like only one Domain or one site. The objects are linked together, and arranged in a reasonable layout that you can later interactively work with the objects in Microsoft Office Visio.

IMF Companion - Utility to help deal with messages filtered by the Microsoft Exchange Intelligent Message Filter (IMF)

This is the utility I use to help view, delete, unblock, whitelist, and delete messages filtered by the Intelligent Message Filter (IMF) that is built into SP2 of Exchange 2003.

Here is a link to the website:

I have tried all of them, and I personally like IMF companion the most.

How to move WSUS content database to a new location

I had to do this the other day.  The C:\ drive of a client’s server was getting full and I was looking for items to move over to a different drive.   The WSUS content database was pretty large and this is how I moved it.

- Open the Command Prompt.
- Browse to C:\Program Files\Update Services\Tools.
- Type the following command:  wsusutil movecontent D:\wsuscontent C:\wsusmove.log Where D:\wsuscontent is the new location, and C:\wsusmove.log is a log file for the move.

Keep in mind the folder for the new location must already be created.

I got this info from an Experts-Exchange.com post…
